If compare this theoretical course with studying at a film school - it's absolutely a great preparation school and I think I'd have taken it for sure! It gives you all the necessary overview of the entire film production process, focuses on the important historical facts, highlights the present situation - so, you're really updated but can see and understand how it was developing in the course of time. I don't know if Oksana plans to teach at some real film school but I should say she is very competent even now and has a talent for it and a special feeling and understanding of filmmaking. I'd love to attend other courses or workshops if she has any in the future and will follow her posts for sure. Thank you very much! It was a great kino journey!

The information that you gave about each stage of filmmaking and each profession helped me to understand the process much better. Now I see the difference between short films and big budget feature films. Now I know the names not only of famous film directors and actors, but producers, cinematographers, scriptwriters, production designers, editors and many more - I pay attention to all these people because all of them are very important, as you said - filmmaking is a team sport! Thank you very much for all you recommendations which films to watch and books to read - I still have a lot of homework to do, but it is a very interesting homework to do! I'm absolutely satisfied with this course and never regretted that signed up for it! As I said at the beginning it's a great opportunity to upgrade your film knowledge but in English, to go through all the stages of film production and learn the professional terminology and even slang, see the difference between Russian productions, USA and Europe. Now I'm more prepared to collaborate with international productions. Once again I've become sure that knowing English is a great advantage for a filmmaker because you have access to much more useful and interesting materials and Oksana stressed this point for Russian speaking students. Now there are some films and books on my list that I'm looking forward to watch and read. Also I liked the final lesson about distribution, probably this topic has been always out of my focus but it's a very important stage and even if you're as a filmmaker not involved in it, it's still better to know how it's done. So, I'll definitely recommend this course for amateurs and professionals of different levels! Enjoy it!

KINOCAMP course is an overview course of the cinematography process - who, when, where, how, how much, how long, etc. - everything that final film contain and what we almost never watch. KINOCAMP is not about the modern process only, but it's also good historical basement to understand how the MOVIE is moving forward. KINOCAMP is another step to be closer to cinematography at all.

I've never ever thought it could be so complex and challenging, but you explained it so nicely and vividly with all these examples that now it's pretty well structured in my head. It seems to me that you can not only make beautiful films but you can teach how these beautiful films can be made. Oksana, thank you very much that you made such really a useful filmmaking course! I can honestly say that the theory that you gave during 1,5 month is more than comparable to what they teach at film schools during 1 year. Moreover, your information is much more structured and doesn't have "water", you know, and you have practical examples and always compare film industries in Russia, UK and USA - it's really good to know, as well as the professional language. Oh, and your first lesson about the origins of film history - I had no idea about it! To sum up, I'm very happy I learnt some theory despite that I'm already in practice for a long time. Thank you!

I am a relative newbie when it comes to filmmaking, so the course was a great way for me to learn more about the film industry. It also helped me gain a new perspective on films, so that my film watching experience will never be the same! As you learn more about different aspects of film making, you learn to appreciate cinema as a great art and not merely as a form of entertainment. The course will make you closer to understanding this art, regardless of whether you are planning to become a filmmaker yourself. That said, I am more tempted to pick up a camera now!
